Brush your teeth at least twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Use a toothbrush with soft bristles and a head that is small enough to reach all areas of your mouth. Replace your toothbrush every three to four months. Use a fluoride toothpaste for extra protection against tooth decay. Placing your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle, brush back and forth with small, circular movements. Brush all of your teeth, giving extra attention to the front and back teeth. Brush your tongue from back to front to remove plaque and prevent bad breath.

Floss at least once a day, using whatever flavor and type of floss you prefer. Work the floss between your teeth gently. Curve your floss around each tooth and gently slide it under the gum line. Move the floss up and down a few times to remove plaque.
